# eTAhelp > eTAhelp (eTAhelp Ltd., Nairobi, Kenya) helps travelers and businesses prepare complete, correct Kenya eTA applications: a checklist built for each trip, secure document upload, automatic checks and, on reviewed services, a person who checks everything before submission. It is a private assistance service, not the Government of Kenya: travelers submit their eTA on the official portal (https://www.etakenya.go.ke), where the government fee is paid. ## About eTAhelp - What it does: prepares and checks Kenya eTA applications so they are complete and consistent before the traveler submits them. - What it doesn't do: it doesn't issue eTAs, make decisions, collect the government fee or guarantee approval. Only the Government of Kenya does that, on the official portal. - Who it's for: individual travelers, and agencies, schools and teams that manage many travelers from one dashboard. - Fees: one service fee per case, shown before paying (https://etahelp.co.ke/pricing). The government eTA fee is separate. - Payment: only when the checklist is complete; refunds follow the published refund policy. - Privacy: only the people working on a case can see it; passport and document copies are deleted 30 days after the case is completed or cancelled. - Contact: etahelp@gmail.com, or the contact form at https://etahelp.co.ke/contact. Replies by email from a person. ## Key pages - [How it works](https://etahelp.co.ke/how-it-works): the process, required documents, stages and timelines - [Pricing](https://etahelp.co.ke/pricing): service fees per case; the government eTA fee is separate - [FAQ](https://etahelp.co.ke/faq): short answers to common questions - [Refund policy](https://etahelp.co.ke/refunds) - [Privacy notice](https://etahelp.co.ke/privacy) ## Guides for travelers - [Do you need a Kenya eTA? Who is exempt in 2026](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-do-i-need-one) (Getting started): You need a Kenya eTA unless your nationality or situation is exempt. Since 2025 rules, exemptions cover East African Community citizens, most other African nationals except those of Libya and Somalia, many Caribbean and Pacific countries, and transit passengers who stay in the airport. Everyone else, including children, needs their own eTA. - [Kenya eTA for transit: when you need one](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-transit-rules) (Getting started): You need a Kenya eTA for transit only if you leave the airport. Passengers transferring to another flight without leaving the airport precincts are exempt. If you pass through immigration, even for a few hours, you need one. An eTA is valid for travel within 90 days of issue. - [Kenya eTA application: step-by-step walkthrough](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-application-walkthrough) (Applying): You apply for a Kenya eTA online at the official portal, etakenya.go.ke, with your passport, a photo, contact details, travel itinerary and accommodation confirmation, then pay the fee by card. Processing typically takes three working days but can take longer. The eTA is valid for travel within 90 days of issue. - [Kenya eTA documents: the complete checklist](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-documents-required) (Documents and photos): The documents you need for a Kenya eTA are a passport valid six months beyond arrival with a blank page, a selfie or passport-type photo, contact details, your travel itinerary, an accommodation confirmation and a payment card. Business and family visits need extra documents, such as an invitation letter or your host's ID. Every traveler applies separately. - [Kenya eTA photo: how to take one that passes review](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-photo-requirements) (Documents and photos): A Kenya eTA needs a selfie or passport-type photo of the traveler, according to the official portal. It gives no further specifications, so follow passport-photo practice: a recent, sharp, evenly lit photo of your face, looking at the camera, against a plain light background, with nothing covering your face. - [I made a mistake on my Kenya eTA. Can I fix it?](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-mistake-fix) (Troubleshooting): You can't fix a mistake yourself after submitting a Kenya eTA application: the official portal publishes no way to edit one. Contact the eTA team, using the details on the portal's FAQ page, with your reference number. If it can't be corrected, you may need a new application and fee. - [Kenya eTA rejection: 7 gaps that get applications refused](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-rejection-reasons) (Troubleshooting): Kenya eTA applications get rejected when they don't meet the published requirements: a passport valid under six months after arrival, an unclear photo, details that don't match the passport, or a missing itinerary, accommodation confirmation or purpose document. The government doesn't publish refusal reasons, so check each requirement before you submit. - [Arriving in Nairobi with a Kenya eTA: what to expect](https://etahelp.co.ke/blog/traveler/kenya-eta-airport-arrival) (Travel and arrival): When you arrive in Kenya with an eTA, you show your passport and eTA at immigration, and the officer decides whether to admit you and for how long. Have your approved eTA, return or onward ticket and accommodation details ready. Airlines can refuse to board you without an approved eTA. ## Frequently asked questions - Is eTAhelp the government? No. eTAhelp is a private service that helps you prepare a correct application. You always submit on the official Kenya eTA portal, where the Government of Kenya makes the decision. - Do I need eTAhelp to get a Kenya eTA? No. You can apply directly on the official portal. We're for travelers who want a guided checklist, a check of their answers and documents, and help if something needs fixing. - Do you submit the application for me? No. We prepare it with you, then give you step-by-step help to submit it yourself on the official portal. That way the application, and the government fee, stay in your name. - What if my application is rejected? We can't guarantee approval: the Government of Kenya decides every application. But our checks and review reduce the risk of a rejection for procedural reasons, such as a missing document or details that don't match your passport. - Who needs a Kenya eTA? Most visitors do, and each traveler, including children, needs their own. Some nationalities are exempt. Rules change, so check the official portal for your passport before you travel. - Which documents do I need? A clear scan of your passport photo page, a recent passport-style photo and your return or onward travel booking. Depending on your trip we may also ask for a hotel booking, an invitation letter or your host's ID. - How long must my passport be valid? At least 6 months after the date you arrive in Kenya, with at least one blank page. - How long does it take? Preparing usually takes 15–30 minutes if you have your documents to hand, and you can stop and continue any time. The Government's processing time is separate; check the official portal for current guidance. - Can I stop and continue later? Yes. Every section is saved as you go. Open your case from My Cases to pick up where you left off. - I made a mistake. Can I change my answers? Yes, any time before you pay, and again if our team asks you to correct something. After that, message us from your case. - When should I apply? As early as you can once your travel dates are fixed. Processing times are set by the Government; check the official portal for current guidance. - What does the service fee cover? Our help preparing and checking your application. The government eTA fee is separate and paid by card on the official portal. - How do I pay? Through Paystack's secure checkout, by card or mobile money. We never see your card or mobile-money details. - Can I get a refund? Yes, in full, if you cancel before we begin reviewing your case, or if we can't deliver the service. See the Refund policy for every case. - I was charged twice. What happens? We spot duplicate payments and refund the extra charge. You'll get an email when it's done. Your bank or mobile-money provider may take up to 10 business days to show it. - Is my passport data safe? Your documents are stored privately and encrypted, both in transit and at rest. Only our reviewers can open them, after a two-step sign-in, through links that expire within minutes. They're deleted 30 days after your case closes. - How long do you keep my data? Your answers and documents are deleted 30 days after your case is completed or cancelled, or 90 days after your last activity if you never pay. Payment records are kept, without your name or email, because tax law requires it. - Can I download or delete my data? Yes. Once signed in, go to Settings to download a copy of everything we hold or to delete your account.
