I made a mistake on my Kenya eTA. Can I fix it?
The answer
Verified 30 October 2026Can I fix a mistake on my Kenya eTA application?
You can't fix a mistake yourself after submitting a Kenya eTA application: the official portal publishes no way to edit one. Contact the eTA team, using the details on the portal's FAQ page, with your reference number. If it can't be corrected, you may need a new application and fee.
TL;DR
- There's no published way to edit a submitted application.
- Contact the eTA team (email, phone or WhatsApp on the portal's FAQ page) with your reference number.
- A new application may be needed, and the fee may not be refundable.

What the official sources say
Neither the official portal nor the embassies' guidance describe a way to change an application once it has been submitted. The portal's own advice is to make sure all the data is entered correctly before you submit. So treat the details as final the moment you press submit, and check them against your passport first.
What to do now
- Find your reference number in the confirmation email from the portal.
- Contact the eTA team. The official portal's FAQ page lists an email address, a phone number and WhatsApp, and the Department of Immigration's eTA page lists etakenya@immigration.go.ke. Give your reference number, say exactly which field is wrong, and what it should say.
- Wait for an answer before doing anything else, unless your travel date makes that impossible.
- If you must reapply, enter every detail exactly as printed in your passport.
Which mistakes matter most
Details that identify you, such as your name, date of birth and passport number, must match your passport exactly. A mismatch can be a reason for refusal; see the gaps that get applications refused.
Avoiding it next time
Most mistakes happen when filling in the form under time pressure. Prepare every answer first with the step-by-step walkthrough, or get your answers checked before you open the official form.
